Student Volunteering

Based in Nacogdoches, Nac CORE is powered by a dedicated team of student volunteers from Stephen F. Austin University (SFA), many of whom are pre-veterinary students eager for hands-on experience with animals. These volunteers are essential to our operations, bringing both enthusiasm and commitment to each project. Nac CORE offers these students valuable opportunities to gain practical experience while making a positive difference in the community. We welcome all SFA students interested in getting involved, providing them with the chance to contribute to meaningful work and connect with like-minded peers.

Veterinary Skill Student Workshop

We host on campus student workshops where we teach pre-veterinary students skills that they will need to contribute in a veterinary clinic. These are skills such as restraint, blood drawing, cytology staining and interpretation, basics on canine parvo-virus, and heartworms.
